On June 17, Girl Scout Daisies Troop 770 presented Hale Makua Kahului resident Vilma Sanchez, a former Girl Scout, with a donation of $200. The Troop, consisting of members: Mikaela Benavides, Natasha Esclito, Johnneece Mahie Miyagawa, Moniz-Kekumu, Pohai Roback, Adison-Rae Sako, and Manaia Ulu, decided to give a portion of the funds raised from their own Girl Scout cookie sales to Hale Makua Health Services.

“We are honored to have been selected by Girl Scout Troop 770 as the recipient of their hard work and efforts. It was heartwarming to see kids ranging in age from 5 to 7 giving back to their community and kupuna at such a young age.” shares Joyce Tamori, Hale Makua Health Services CFO.

Girl Scout Daisies are in grades K-1 and meet in a nurturing, inclusive environment. They go on trips, learn about nature and science, and explore the arts and their communities. Girl Scout Daisies can also earn Learning Petals and receive participation patches.
