Care Partners to Attend International Conference

We’re excited to be sending care partners Debbie Foster and Jordan Kahiamoe to the 2014 Eden Alternative International Conference in Nashville, Tennessee. The conference will be a meeting of those involved in long-term and home-based care to gain knowledge, share stories and build relationships. Attendees will find tools and inspiration for changing our culture of care.

Debbie is the Head of Household for Care Homes by Hale Makua. She submitted an essay, saying "one of the best reasons for me to attend the Eden conference will be the networking capabilities and group discussions. We are all facing the same or similar issues and challenges in dealing with the elderly and ensuring their quality of life."

Jordan is a Laundry Helper at Hale Makua. In his video application, he described wanting to attend the conference to “see different perspectives on how other care partners work and how Eden works for them." Jordan wants to bring inspiration to his co-workers saying “Eden is not only for our Elders, it’s for our care partners as well.”

“Wise leadership is the lifeblood of any struggle against the three plagues. For it, there can be no substitute.” – Eden Alternative Principle 10
