Going the Distance for our Kupuna

Dsc_0038%20web

Hale Makua Health Services employees have been very busy for the past year raising funds for this years Visitor Industry Charity Walk. Fundraising for this event is 100% employee driven. You name it, I'm almost certain that our staff has made it and sold it...from crafts, used books, flowers, artwork, games, all kinds of food, and of course asking friends and family to donate. As we near the date of the Visitor Industry Charity Walk, which takes place on Saturday, May 14, 2016, our employees are making one last big effort to raise funds and we need your help.

This year we set a goal to raise $70,000 in honor of Hale Makua Health Services 70th anniversary. We have currently raised close to $37,000! And a percentage of the funds raised will be matched by the Hawaii Hotel and Lodging Association. This is a great opportunity to make a donation that will increase its impact in helping to provide financial assistance to kupuna (elders) who are unable to afford health services.

You can join us in helping to ensure our kupuna continue to receive the care they need by participating in our fundraisers, making a donation to one of our walkers, or with a minimum pledge of $50 you can walk with our team. Contact Danielle Sanchez at (808) 871-9283 or danielles@halemakua.org to get involved. Mahalo for your continued support!
