Posted December 20, 2017
A special group of Carolers including Napua Grieg, Kamaka Kukona, Wailau Ryder, Kason Gomes and a handful of other Hawaii artists came and got residents and care partners singing and dancing. The visit was a surprise for the residents that came together when one of the singers, Wailau Ryder had an idea of coming to our home and giving our residents a Christmas show to remember. And that’s exactly what they did! They spent over an hour strolling the halls, singing, and dancing hula and ended in the Aloha Café to serenade residents during lunch. Even two of our own employees danced hula, as their Kumu Hula, Kamaka Kukona, called them up to share their talent. Mahalo to each of these incredible musicians for taking the time to spend with our kupuna this holiday season and reminding us of the true meaning of holiday spirit.
