Each year family, friends, and supporters gather to raise funds for our elders at Kokua for Kupuna, our annual fundraiser. Hale Makua Health Services first held this fundraiser in 1988. Since then, it has grown into a fabulous event that features premiere entertainment, a large selection of silent auction items and `ono (delicious) Hawaiian cuisine. This year, the sweet sounds of Na Hoku Hanohano Award winning Na Leo Pilimehana will undoubtedly move you to your feet.
This outdoor event takes full advantage of the incredible Maui weather. As guests sit oceanfront at the Sheraton Resort & Spa, they are treated to a front row view of the setting sun as it dips below the ocean and transforms the sky into shades of pink and orange. The night sky becomes illuminated by countless stars and the gentle lapping of the waves is the perfect backdrop for gathering with friends.
Kokua for Kupuna is also a time to publicly honor one of our outstanding supporters. The Hyundai Tournament of Champions (HTOC) has donated more than $5.3 million to Maui community charities since its move to Maui in 1999. HMHS is fortunate to have been a beneficiary of the Tournament since 2002 and has provided volunteers and support throughout the years. The support of HTOC allows us to continue our services within our community. We appreciate their commitment to making sure that valuable services remain in place for members of our community.
Proceeds from this event will provide financial assistance to individuals who are unable to afford care, and will continue Hale Makua’s 69 year legacy of providing care and a home for individuals in the Maui community who need it most.
Seating is limited, so get your tickets online here or by calling 871.9283 before they're gone.
