Christina Tiri began her career at Hale Makua Health Services in 2006 as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) primarily on the Pikake Neighborhood, but also spent time caring for residents on the Ilima and North Neighborhoods. In May of this year, Christina was promoted to the Adult Day Health Program Manager where she says she “loves the daily interaction with clients and their families”, and the fact that she’s already learned so much from the clients, like how to play Mah Jong.
As the Adult Day Health Program Manager, Christina’s responsibilities include monitoring the health status of each client, administering prescribed medications, assisting in all aspects of client care, and providing health education to clients and their families. In addition, she communicates with the clients’ physician, coordinates medical services from outside providers, and is responsible for the total nursing care given to clients by direct care partners during program hours.
Prior to joining Hale Makua Health Services, Christina was an Aide at Care Resources and attended school at the University of Hawaii Maui College to become an LPN. Outside of work, she has three children ages 6, 9 and 16, who keep her very busy with their own activities.
