Posted May 17, 2019
National Skilled Nursing Care Week, formally known as National Nursing Home Week, was celebrated from May 12th - 17th. Care partners and residents joined in “Live Soulfully”, this year's theme, which asked the question “what are you doing for yourself and others every day to create happiness?” Residents, clients, families and care partners connected and spent time creating a deeper understanding and appreciation for each other and our organization doing things that made them happy
They participated in themed dress up days, fun activities and games, and closed the week our with our annual May Day program featuring performances by residents, staff and community members. Pictured left is residents Gandy Molina and Margaret Miyashiro singing with Activity Director Teresa Lopes and Activity Assistant Kas Ragasa.
This week was an opportunity to reflect on how fortunate we are to have such a warm and compassionate environment for our kupuna, and the incredible support we receive from generous supporters like you. Hale Makua has a rich history and story because of our Maui community. To see more photos from our 2019 week long celebration, click here.
