Posted May 18, 2016
Thank you for your continued support of our fundraising efforts for this year's Visitor Industry Charity Walk by walking the 5km route, supporting a team fundraiser, and/or making a donation. Because of you Hale Makua Health Services was able to raise a record-breaking $86,513 and placed second for nonprofit raising the most money. In addition, Maui County raised a phenomenal $1,033,383.
Plus, the funds that we raise go even further in helping to provide financial assistance to Hale Makua residents who are unable to afford the cost of living at a nursing home, because a percentage of money raised is matched by the Hawaii Hotel Industry Foundation.
Participation in raising funds for the Charity Walk to help our kupuna was outstanding this year, and together, we beat our goal to raise $70,000. Two of our employee teams raised a record-breaking $10,000 each, five individual employees raised over $1,000 each, and Board Director Mitch Mitchell (pictured above, left) brought in over $31,000, taking first place for Individual Raising the Most Funds!!
A huge MAHALO to our 2016 Charity Walk Committee Chair, Rosie Kahiamoe (pictured above, left), for her energy, enthusiasm, drive and dedication to ensuring that we meet and exceed our $70,000 goal. Her continuous commitment to this event has been inspirational!
